  • Inventory of such property as has been relinquished by the death of Dirk Slabbert on the 14:th day of the month of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight.
  • The deceased having by his last will and testament executed jointly with his wife Maria Margaretha Hannosius on the 22:d April 1825 before the Notary Public Mr Jacobus Petrus de Wet and certain witnesses appointed to be his sole and universal heirs, viz:t
  • 1) the aforesaid wife Maria Margaretha Hannosius
  • 2) the children of his late daughter Margaretha Elizabeth Slabbert married to George Nelson Lond, viz: a) Hendrina Orgina Joh:a Lond married to B: Wools
  • b) Anna Elizabeth born 12 February 1807
  • c) Susanna Louisa born 8 August 1808
  • d) Dirk Nelson born 14 March 1810
  • e) Maria Berta Dolphina born 5 Novemb: 1811
  • f) Margaretha Eliz:h Jacoba born 15 April 1814
  • g) George Nelson born 20 Novemb: 1817 and
  • h) Johanna Jacoba Lond born on the 15 Sep:r 1827
  • 3) the children procreated in wedlock with his surviving widow Maria Margaretha Hannosius a) Cornelia Joh:a Josina born in the 10 May 1817
  • b) Johan Hannosius born the 9 May 1821
  • c) Dirk Maarten born 23 June 1823
  • d) Pieter Joachim Wilhelm born 28 March 1826

  • and has further requested and appointed the Board of Orphan Masters to be and to act as executors and guardians over the minor heirs in said will.
  • In consequence whereof the undersigned commissioned Members of the Orphan Board have taken the joint estate under proper inventory and found the same to consist in the following, viz:t

  • Thus inventoried at the aforesaid place Langefonteyn on the 3:d of January 1829 according to a statement made by the wid: who declared to have acted herein bona fide and that to the best of her knowledge she has not withheld or secreted any thing that belonging to the aforesaid estate; she further declared that she is and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm her statement by solemn oath (if required), promising at the same time that after the date of these presents any property of this estate might be discovered shall faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered.
