About Don Ivan Manola, biskup ninski
Bishop of Nin Giovanni - Ivan Manola, son of Mate Manola and Tomazina Dragičević was born in Split in 1656, died in Ražanac in 1709 and was buried in the church of Our Lady of the Rosary. As a young priest, he taught the children of nobles and was the pastor of Klis, Šolta and Kaštel Sućurac. In 1689 he succeeded Canon Krsto Skulanović, and in 1693 he held the position of Kaptol notary. After the priest Ivan Paštrić donated his library to Cosmi's seminary in 1703, Archbishop Cosmi elected Ivan Manola as a member of the board to take care of it. As vicar of Archbishop Cosmi and procurator of Kaptol, he performed and described in 1704 the general visitation of the diocese. In 1709, Pope Clement XI appointed Ivan Manola bishop of Nin. In the same year he passed his doctorate in theology and philosophy at the Sapienza in Rome. Before leaving for Rome on April 11, he wrote in his own house in Split and sealed his will with his seal. As a bishop of Nin and a friend of the Jesuits in Nin, he was especially committed to the upbringing of young priests.
