DONAL H. ZUMWALT

Donal H. Zumwalt of Forest Grove, a retired plant superintendent for the Darigold dairy, died of cancer Wednesday in a Hillsboro hospital at the age of 77. At his request, no service will be held.

He was born Feb. 16, 1916, in Sixes, where he was reared. He graduated from high school in Port Orford in 1934 and received a bachelor's degree in dairy farming from Oregon State College, now OSU, in 1939. He married Lois Taylor on Aug. 3, 1940, in San Francisco.

Mr. Zumwalt worked for the Broadview Dairy and Mayflower Farms until 1950, when he went to work for the Dairy Co-op, which later became Darigold. He retired as plant superintendent in 1975.

Survivors besides his wife include his daughters, Kareen Burnard of Beaverton, Donalyn DeClerk of Hillsboro and Barbara Force of Forest Grove; brother, Leslie of Forest Grove; and five grandchildren.

Disposition was by cremation.

The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the Oregon division of the American Cancer Society, the Forest Grove United Methodist Church, the Valley Art Association in Forest Grove or to a favorite charity.
