Donald L Osterhaus, 80, of Davenport, IA, formerly of Dubuque, passed away peacefully Sat, Sep 26 2009 at Clarissa C Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Svcs will be at 11am Tues, Sep 29 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Rock Island Natl Cem, Rock Island, IL where military rites will be accorded. Friends may call 5-7pm Mon, Sep 28 at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport, where there will be rosary svc at 6:30pm. Mr Osterhaus worked as salesman for 30 yrs at Banworth & Udelhoven Furniture World. He b Feb 15 1929, in Epworth, IA son of Fred & Lucy (Oberfoell) Osterhaus. He graduated from Loras Academy, Dubuque. He m Nancy Cavanaugh Dec 1 1951 at St Mary's Church, Dubuque. Surviving are wife Nancy, Davenport; 2 sons, Greg (Rhonda), Davenport; & Donald (Cheryl), Grundy Ctr; sis, Velma Martens, Dubuque; 7 grdchildren, Matthew (Amber) Osterhaus, Nicholas (Danielle) Osterhaus, Andrew Osterhaus, Julia (Mike) Jones, Geoffrey (Heather) Osterhaus, Adam Osterhaus & Ellen Osterhaus; 3 ggrdchildren w/2 more on the way in Dec. He was preceded in death by parents; & 2 bros, Merlin & John.
