I am a retired Bank V.P. and life long genealogist. I started my genealogy searches when I was 16 years old in 1948. I did genealogy professionally for a while between banking jobs. Now my main field of concentration is trying to link my Dutch Blanckman/ Blankman Family with the family of the same name in Finland. My Y-Chromosome test assigns me to Y-Haplogroup N1c1 with a Terminal SNP of N-Y6599. About 61% of Finnish males have this Haplogroup. Unfortunately, there are no living Finnish males of this family alive to test, and I presume nobody would let me dig up a deceased family member to test! There is no other way I can think of to prove conclusively the connection of my Dutch Blankmans and those of Finland. The Family Finder Test disclosed no connections. Still, I remain optimistic that someday proof will be discovered.
