Donald Warren Mollerud

Donald W. Mollerud, 58, 2520 Lakeview Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 19, at his home.

Services be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at First Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls. Revs. Roger Grow and Lauren Youngdale will officiate, and burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

The son of Theodore and Edyth (Purdon), he was born Sept. 2, 1926, in Wahpeton, N.D., where he grew up and graduated from high school. He received his electrician's training at North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton. From 1944 to 1946, he served in the United States Navy Air Corps.

On Aug. 29, 1948, he and Geneva Bergland were married at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

From 1949 to 1950, he was employed with Hintgen-Karst Electric. He was one of the founders of Edling Electric and served as its vice president until 1972. In 1971, he purchased Edling Electric and operated it until 1983. For the past two years, he was an electrical consultant for Gander Construction and Comeau Energy Management.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church, past president of the Fergus Falls Kiwanis club and Jaycees, a member of the board of directors of the Fergus Falls Chamber of Commerce and a past member of the Fergus Falls Industrial Development Corp. He was named the outstanding Kiwanian of the year and also helped in the development of the Holiday Inn in Fergus Falls.

Survivors include his wife Geneva; four daughters, Mrs. Gary (Anne) Scheidecker of Fergus Falls, Mrs. Gary (Gail) Severtson of Mound, Mrs. Robert (Sarah) Wasvick of Huron, S.D., and Elizabeth Mollerud, a student at Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont.; two sons, Earl of Minneapolis and Donald Jr. of Alexandria; five grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Russell (Marian) Ruppert of Fargo, Mrs. Frank (Doris) Schledorn and Mrs. Anthony (Margaret) Hanzlik, both of Bozeman, Mrs. Daniel (Betty) Moratz of Milwaukee, Wis., Vivian Peterson of Sisseton, S.D., and Mrs. LeRoy (Thelma) Lenz of Glenwood; and two brothers, Marvin of Fargo and Emery of Barnesville.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Monday, continue from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Glende-Johnson-Nelson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, and resume at the church one hour prior to services.
