Obituary

Donna Fullmer, 94, of Menan, returned to her heavenly home early in the morning Sunday, November 11, 2012, after five years of disability following surgery. She was under the care of her daughter, Elaine, and son, Scott, assisted lovingly by other family members, especially son-in-law, Charles Taylor, and grandchildren, Allen, Jason, Annette, Rebeccah and Caleb Fullmer.

The family would like to thank doctors Larry Curtis and Richard Harper, as well as Janel, Monica, Wally and Nate of Aspen Home Health and Hospice, and the staff of Cloud Nine, especially Haley.

She was born September 25, 1918, at Annis, Idaho, to John Robert and Luella Campbell Scott. She enjoyed fishing, camping, horseback riding and working and playing with her six brothers and their parents. She attended Annis Elementary, Midway High School, and graduated from Rigby High School. She was Rigby Stake Gold and Green Ball queen her senior year.

She married Norris Fullmer on March 4, 1938, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived their entire married life in Menan, where they farmed together until Norris passed away in 1999. Along with being a housekeeper and cook for her family and hired help, she worked side by side with her husband on the family farm, running for parts, training her children to work in the fields, and even driving draft horses during World War II. She also worked in potato warehouses to help support her two oldest sons on their LDS missions.

She enjoyed traveling, fishing and camping with her family, and especially with her husband in their later years. She was chairwoman of the Jefferson County Farm Bureau women's committee, and was 1981 Jefferson County Farm Bureau Farm Wife of the Year.

She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served as an instructor and leader in the Primary, Sunday School, Young Women's and Relief Society organizations. She served many family members, neighbors and even strangers, including German POWs, with her generosity, excellent cooking and compassion.

She is survived by one brother, Glen C. Scott of Idaho Falls; her children, N. Lyle (Angie) Fullmer of Cologne, Germany, Wm. Ross (Renee) Fullmer of Menan, Beverly (V. Ray) Bishop of Orem, Utah, R. Dean (Carol) Fullmer of Menan, Elaine (Charles) Taylor of Rigby, L. Scott (Christina) Fullmer of Idaho Falls and Boyd L. (Teri) Fullmer of Menan; 41 grandchildren; 111 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Edna, Victoria and Luella; brothers, Leslie, Ernest, Ivan, Lyle and Wayne; as well as three great-grandchildren, Kaden C. and Jaden D. Taylor and Leah G. HoChing.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 17, at the Menan Second Ward building (red brick church). Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, November 16, at Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service. Interment will be at Annis-Little Butte Cemetery. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/postregister/obituary.aspx?pid=161...
