Widow of Robert Erskine passed away at Saginaw General hospital Sunday afternoon, Oct.29, 1972, following a brief illness. Age 76 years. Dora A. Stroebel was born Sept. 17, 1896, in Richland Township and had been a lifelong resident. She was married there to Mr. Erskine Feb. 7, 1914. He passed away in 1967. She was a member of the Richland Rebekah Lodge No. 428 and was a Past Grand Club member. Surviving are six sons and three daughters, Howard, Morley and Robert Erskine, all of Hemlock; Ray Erskine, Beaverton; Donald Erskine, EIkhart, Ind; Calvin Erskine, Mrs. Aren (Donna) Lewis, both living in California;Mrs. Erwin (Evelyn)Beach, Freeland; Mrs, Frederick (Carol) London, Plover, WI. Two sons predeceased her. She also leaves 18 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Nothelfer, Burt; Mrs. Walter Hutfllz, Saginaw; Mrs. William Bickel, Bay City; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Case Chapel in Merrill. Rev. John Huhtala will officiate with burial in Hemlock Cemetery. Friends may call at the Case Chapel in Merrill after 7 p.m. Monday. Those, who so desire, may make memorials to the United Methodist Church Building Fund.
