Doris L Marsh

Mrs. Doris Turnley Marsh passed away in Mt. Vernon, Ohio on Friday, January 26, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30th at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Salem Baptist Church in Stonewall, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Stanley C. McGee. Interment will follow at Stonewall Cemetery.

Mrs. Marsh was born on September 24, 1918 in Trout, LA and had been a resident of Stonewall, LA since 1968. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday School and WMU. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, professional educator sorority, received her teaching degree from Louisiana Tech, masters from Loyola University in New Orleans and Master plus 30 from Northwestern State University and taught school during a 40 year period.

Mrs. Marsh was preceded in death by her husband, Van Cade Marsh, Sr.; parents, Maude and Edwin Turnley; sisters, Helen Thompson, Avis Jones, Iris Russell and Maude Anders; and brother, Billy Turnley.

She is survived by two daughters, Loranne Temple and husband, Daniel and Marilyn Stanley and husband, James; two sons, Van Cade Marsh, Jr. and Mack J. Marsh and wife, Debra; seventeen grandchildren, Gabriel Cade Marsh, Narayan Marsh, Isaiah Marsh, JZ Heckathorn, Isaac Marsh, Laura Lee Hall, Will Temple, John Temple, Mandy Mayville, Abby Temple, Katie Temple, Mack Marsh, Jr., Karen Wittbrodt, Kevin Marsh, Callie Fogle, Jamie Stanley and Adam Stanley; twenty-four great grandchildren; one sister, Anita Laseter; one brother, J. E. Turnley and wife, Mary; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be made in lieu of flowers to Alzheimer's Disease and Memory Disorder Center, 6550 Fannin, Suite 1801, Houston, TX 77019.
