Gayle Andersen Obituary "She Loved Life" Our compassionate, beautiful, kind, self-less, caring, loving, long suffering mother completed her 70 year life of service Friday, August 21, 2015 and was joyously reunited with loved ones anxiously awaiting her return. Dorothy Gayle Hansen was born September 22, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the firstborn of three children born to Udell Ryley Hansen and Dorothy Fay Smith. She was born with a love for life and would always make the best out of any situation. She attended BYU where she graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Development. She married Laurie Richard Fogg on May 5, 1967 and was blessed with four children, William Ryley (Kate Seggar), Steven Richard (Michelle Apgood), Stacey (Gary Matthews) and John Henry (JaNelle Boren) before a tragic car accident that took his life early October 1974. Two years later, she was blessed to meet Stephan Paul Andersen. They were married on September 10, 1976 and joyfully welcomed two more children, Stephanie (Bryant Ream) and Jeremy Paul (Sydney Garrison). She loved and cared for Stephan through his battle with diabetes until his passing February 1989. Gayle dedicated her life to her family and to serving others. She was a passionate advocate, loyal friend, example of unconditional love, and was always thinking of others, even during the final moments of her life. She spent countless hours volunteering in her community and church. She worked at Lincoln Elementary for 20 years teaching children how to read, to speak English, and to love learning. She had a passion for attending the temple and working on family history.
