Dorothy W. Ashcroft

Dorothy W. Ashcroft, 88, died early Wednesday morning, Aug. 8, 2003, at Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon.

She was born May 24, 1915, to Thomas and Ethel Skinner. Dorothy was a lifetime homemaker and a member of the Fredericktown Holiness Church. On Nov. 25, 1936, in Leesville, she married Elwin Adam Ashcroft, who preceded her in death on July 25, 1995.

She is survived by her son, Steve Ashcroft of Collins Center, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Shaw Conniff; a grandson, Michael Shaw; and two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call Friday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington, where the funeral will follow at noon. Pastor James E. Redmond will officiate. Burial will be in Fulton Cemetery.
