Dorothy Ava Hammond (Shoopman) (Rich)

MORGANTOWN - Dorothy Ava Hammonds, 82, of Morgantown died at 4:50 a.m. March 14, 2006, at a Morgantown nursing home.

The Tennessee native was a homemaker and member of Aberdeen Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Henry F. Rich and Sarah Hayes Rich and the wife of the late John Shoopman and Tom Hammonds. She was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Shoopman.

Funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Chapel, with burial in Aberdeen Cemetery. Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include a son, Bob Shoopman and his wife, Beverly, of Beaver Dam; a daughter, Jennifer Sue Shoopman of Fort Myers, Fla.; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and a sister, Willie Poindexter and her husband, Archie, of Burkesville
