About Dorothy Ann Higbee
Dorothy Ann was an early LDS convert and sailed to the US from Liverpool on the ship "Kennebec" on January 10, 1852 with her mother, brother and young daughter. Upon her arrival in New Orleans, she married John Somers Higbee on March 11, 1852.
On April 9, 1852, Ann survived the explosion and sinking of the steam boat "Saluda". She and her family joined the John S. Higbee/James W. Bay Company and traveled from Iowa to southern Utah. Ann and John had at least 6 children.
