Dorothy Blanche Hilgenburg

NEW LISBON — Dorothy Blanche Hilgenberg, 88, died at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012.

Dorothy was born Dec. 20, 1923, to Sam and Allie Curtis (McIntosh) of Viroqua.

Dorothy married William Higenberg of Seymour, Dec. 20, 1952. Dorothy attended United Methodist Church of New Lisbon and enjoyed her friendships from there. Her favorite bible verses were Psalms 32: 1-5, 10 and 11. Dorothy loved the Lord and was very open about witnessing for the Lord.

She worked most of her able years at Fort McCoy. She helped work the small farm in Stoddard and retired from the United States Post Office in Milwaukee. She spent her last years with a very aggressive attack on small cell cancer through radiation and chemotherapy.

She is survived by her children, Dennis S. Hilgenberg of Walworth, Clydene Towne of Colorado, Doreen Marie Sabatke of Harshaw, Billie Jean Riggs of Necedah, Beatrice Ann Hilgenberg of New Lisbon and Roberta Lynn Nowicki of Necedah; sister, Regina Mae Matthews of La Crosse; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many other relatives; and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hilgenberg; parents; sister, Bea Anderson; and grandchild, Collin William Nowicki.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date. May God bless her and keep her safe for ever more.
