About Dorothy E Lewandowski

Dorothy E. “Dockie” Lewandowski, 85, of Peabody and formerly of Beverly, died Monday morning at her home surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Frederick J. Lewandowski with whom she shared over 65 years of marriage.

Born in Winthrop, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Dorothy G (Maley) Hall. She was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School, class of 1953. She has lived in Peabody for the past 55 years.

Dockie was an administrative assistant for over 30 years for the Coast Guard in Boston and Air Force at Hanscom Air Force Base. She enjoyed playing bingo and shopping with her grandchildren. Her favorite endeavor was being with her family and sharing in all of their activities.

Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her son, Richard Lewandowski of Peabody, her four daughters and son-in-law, Cindy Lewandowski of Salem, Theresa Barnes of Virginia Beach, VA, Nancy and her husband Michael Mayr of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Laura McCarty of Bedford, NH, and is also survived by her beloved 6 grandchildren, Jonathan and Jordan Barnes, Joshua and Jared McCarty, and Alison and Kevin Lewandowski, her 11 great grandchildren, and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Robert, Ronald, and James Hall, and her dear cat, Nomar.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody and her Funeral Service will be on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
