About Dorothy Alice Miner
SWEET HOME - Dorothy Alice Miner, 82, of Sweet Home died Tuesday at Lebanon Community Hospital. She was born on the family homestead near Moorcroft, Wyo., to John and Nancy Boies Dickinson. She moved to Oregon as a child and graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1938. She Married James Monroe Miner on Sept. 18, 1939 in Vancouver, Wash. and they raised 15 children. Mrs. Miner belonged to the Sweet Home Evangelical Church and the Women's Bible Study Group. She was devoted to her family and was known for her cooking skills and her patience. She liked reading and working crossword puzzles. Son Jimmy died in 1999 and brothers John and Paul Dickinson preceded her in death. Viewing will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Workman and Steckly Funeral Chapel. Her sevice will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Sweet Home Evangelical Church, with Pastor Rod Vermillion officiating. Burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.
