About Dorothy Powers

THE FINAL SUMMONS – Mrs. Dorothy Powers of Powersville
Mrs. Dorothy Powers died yesterday morning at Powersville at the home of her son Mr. J.H. Powers, with whom she lived. Death was the result of a stroke of paralysis suffered Wednesday evening about 7 o'clock from which she never recovered. Mrs. Powers enjoyed good health practically all of her life and if she had lived until October she would have been 86 years old. She was the last member of her family. She was the relict of the late John Henry Powers, who died about four years ago at the age of 75 years. On Tuesday afternoon, with her nephew Mr. W.P. Barker of Lumberton, Mrs. Powers drove over to Ten Mile, a distance of about 4 miles, and back, reaching home a short while before sundown.
The funeral will take place this morning from the home and will be conducted by Rev. A.J. Groves of Barker's, pastor of the deceased, and interment will be made in the family cemetery at Powersville.
Deceased is survived by two sons, Mr. W.J. Powers and Mr. J.H. Powers, both of Powersville.
