Wills of Southo1d Reeves before 1800

Dorothy Reeve,daughter who received a bequest by 1709 will of
Richard Howell witnessed by James Reeve.The Receipt dated December
27, 1709 for her L20 bequest copy cluded in this Study under
subdivision (H) of Wills &Estates) is signed by John Reeve
and "Dorraty" Reeve and witnessed by Isaac Reeve James Reeve.
In the 1698 Southold Census she was listed as Dorothy Howell
and hence married John Reeve between then and 1709. Salmon Records
show the death on Sept. 25, 1752 of "Wid. Dority Reeve Relect to
John". The latter died August 10, 1727 age 45 (per Salmon). He
was John Reeve 8 (John 2, Thomas 1).
