About Dorothy Wannenburgh

DOROTHY'S TIME AT MARSH MEMORIAL HOMES
After her father's premature death as a result of a work-related tragedy at a dynamite factory in Somerset West (and her mother's resulting poor health owing to complications from exposure to the event), Dorothy was sent to Marsh Memorial Homes at 16 Nortan Way, Rondebosch before subsequently being adopted by members of the MacCleod family.

According to her parents' marriage certificate, her mother was a Kingwell. Her (maternal?) grandmother was a Johnson. Malcolm likely attended a school nearby Marsh and came into contact with Dorothy during their respective commutes.
