Normantown Community,
Mrs. Dorothy Hadden Williamson, age 88, of the Normantown Community, died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at her home after a sudden illness. She was a native of southern Emanuel County and moved to Normantown in 1941. She was a lifelong farmer, was a supervisor at Globe Manufacturing for more than thirty years, and retired after eleven years as a school bus driver with the Toombs County School System. She was a member of the Normantown Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her parents, Lon and Mary Alma Phillips Hadden; and seven siblings, Elisha, Sarah Lou, T.J., J.R., Dollie Lee, Rose, and Winferd.
Mrs. Williamson is survived by seven children, Helen Connell, Elaine Trull, Buddy Williamson and wife Martha, and Debbie Nabb all of Normantown, Larry Williamson and wife Bonnie of Uvalda, Carol Williamson of Normantown, and Karon Poole and husband Anthony of Uvalda; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 9th at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Dannie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Waters Cemetery near Normantown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
