Biography

Doshia Owens Puckett, 93 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 24, 2008, in Lebanon, VA.

She was a lifelong member of Little Hope Old Regular Baptist Church, and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Patton and Rachel Edwards Owens. She was also preceded in death by her husbands David Coleman, Park Epling and Cowan Puckett, as well as brothers Kilby, Whetsel, Claude, Corbett, and Ellis Owens, and sister Maxie Owens Viers.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Kay and husband Eddie Stanley of Lebanon; two grandsons, John E. Stanley and wife Krae, Castlewood; Jay Patrick Stanley and wife Aleasha of Roanoke; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Patrick and Sarah Grace Stanley; as well as a very special nephew, Odell Owens and wife Shirley of Bristol, VA.

Funeral services for Doshia Owens Puckett will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, March 27, 2008 from the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Wood and Elder Earl Dean Yates to officiate. Additional graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, March 28, 2008 from the Clinch Valley Cemetery, Richlands, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 5:00 PM Thursday until time of service. Family and friends are ask to meet at the cemetery Friday for the graveside service. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
