About Doyne Franklin Emery

Doyne F. Emery, 90 of Macy, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 in his residence.

Born on February 3, 1928 in Macy, he was the son to the late Carl C. and Cretie J. (Ausman) Emery. On January 2, 1949 in Fulton County, Indiana he married Luella Mae King who preceded him in death on January 10, 2012.

Doyne was a farmer and a school bus driver at Caston for 43 years. He is a member of the Fulton Baptist Temple where he served in many roles, including Deacon, Treasurer, and Sunday School Superintendent. Doyne was a 1946 graduate of Fulton High School where he was a member of the Fulton County Championship Basketball team. He participated in 4-H, was a 4-H Club Leader and he was also an honorary chapter farmer of the Caston FFA. Doyne was an avid fan of Caston Athletics.

Surviving are two sons, David (Donna) Emery, Macy; Doug (Tricia) Emery, Lafayette; daughter, Janie (Jeff) Shriver, Rochester; grandchildren, Tara (Bob) Sarver, Aurora, OH; Tristan (Travis) Kirby, Lafayette; Morgan (Kyle) Munson, Rushville; Kyle (Rachel) Emery, Twelve Mile; Stephanie Shriver and Fiancé Drew McCulley, Peru; Benjamin Shriver and Shayleigh Shriver, both of Rochester; great grandchildren Jackson Sarver, Mason Sarver, Owen Sarver, Keagan Sarver, all of Aurora, OH; Harrison and Camden Kirby, both of Lafayette; Oliver Munson, Rushville, IN; Trevor and Tate Emery, both of Twelve Mile; and a sister, Maxine Scutt, Coldwater, MI.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Bailey and a grandson, Stephen Doyne Shriver, one brother, Dale Emery, and two sisters, Opal Emery Champ and Lois Emery Brown.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 7, 2018 in the Fulton Baptist Temple with Pastor Bruce Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 6, 2018 also in the Fulton Baptist Temple. There will also be an hour of visitation prior to the service on Monday.

Memorials may be made to the Fulton Baptist Temple or Gideon’s International.
