Whereas, the Dr. Abner Beebe of this profile is declared to be the husband of for Apphia Sparrow in her Find A Grave: Memorial #10867161}
'
BURIAL. Dr. Abner Beebe was buried in the Marvin Cemetery at Lyme, New London County, Connecticut, USA. The Abner Beebe buried in the Marvin Cemetery at Lyme is almost certainly the other Abner Beebe, because Marvin Cemetery is in Lyme, Ct, and that is where he lived his entire life.

Dr. Abner Beebe was likely buried in the Tater Cemetery in East Haddam where his wife Apphia Sparrow is buried, her tombstone inscription declares her to be the "wife of Dr. Abner Beebe and daughter of Mr. Stephen Sparrow." *Find A Grave: Memorial #10867161

Find a Grave Notes: "1) American Revolution. In Capt. Mather's Co. from Lyme at New London in 1776. Has 2 wives buried in Seldon Cemetery.

2) Vital Records of Lyme Connecticut to the end of the year 1850 [Literally transcribed under the direction of Verne M. Hall and Elizabeth B. Plimpton] Published by the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission of Lyme, Connecticut 1976; pg 303. "

{Editorial, This is incorrect, both of these sources are for Abner Beebe}

Inscription, "No Tombstone Photo" Editorial Note: much of the vital information in this Find a Grave profile has been conflated with a second, contemporary Abner Beebe.

The Dr. Abner Beebe of this Wikitree profile was a Tory, was married to Apphia Sparrow and lived in East Haddam, CT.

There was a second Abner Beebe who was born in 1755, served as a patriot soldier in the Revolutionary war, lived in Lyme Ct, and it was HE who was married to Esther Ely (1755–1798) and (second) Hannah Beebe (1752–1828).

Nevertheless, the 3 Dec 1725 date of birth (also note his wife, Apphia, was born in 1731) and 21 Oct 1801 date of death cited in this find a grave memorial for Dr. Abner Beebe of this profile approximately match the information for Dr. Abner Beebe cited in the independent footnoted references. }

Primary Source, Tombstone Photo of Apphia Beebe. The inscription on Apphia Beebe's tombstone states, In memory of Mrs. Apphia Beebe wife of Doct. Abner Beebe, who died Apr 15, 1787 Ӕ 56. Also of her Father Mr Stephen Sparrow who died Sept 9,1783 {ag}E 90. Thus Abner Beebe was married to Apphia from 26 Apr 1753 to 15 Apr 1787.

However, she did marry a Abner Beebe, but it was a different Abner Beebe; see the Research Notes. Sept 2019}

Secondary Source, Peter Oliver, Origin And Progress Of The American Rebellion A Tory View. Data Extract:

A Tory View of the War; Page 157: Dr. Abner Beebe was assaulted by a patriot mob, stripped, and covered with hot Pitch which blistered his skin. He was then covered in hog dung, and had hog manure rubbed in his face and stuffed in his mouth, all because he dared to speak freely in favor of the English government and criticized his neighbors for treating his 70 year old uncle in a similarly cruel fashion. Windows were broken in his house, and one of his children had a nervous breakdown from fear of the neighbors. The patriots stole the grindstone he owned and blockaded Abner's Grist Mill to prevent patronage. This all happened prior to the Battle of Lexington.
