About Dr. Daniel Germain Lareau
He attended a French/English bilingual preparatory school taught by the Fathers of St. Edmunds, and served as senior aviator on the USS Helena, which conducted an around the world cruise in 1946. He attended medical school at the University of Vermont, completed residency training in internal medicine, and trained in radiology at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He was in private practice for 10 years, and directed the radiology department in Warren for 23 years.
A former Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, he taught medicine at the University of Kentucky School of Medicine. He published multiple research articles in major medical journals, was named a Fellow of the American College Physician as well as a Fellow of the American College of Radiology, was an official surveyor for the American College of Radiology, and was chosen by his peers at Warren General Hospital to serve a term as chairman of the medical department.
He served as president of the Pennsylvania Radiological Society in 1985 and was chairman of various commissions for the society. He was also named councillor from Pennsylvania to the national level for radiology for six years.
