Daniel Osborn, son of Thomas Osborn and Mary Bond, b. ca 1665, d. Jan. 6, 1712/3, aged 48 yrs., buried in the South end bur. Grd., East Hampton, the inscription reading ‘Daniel osbond” and the year “1712,” m. 1st prob. ca. 1689 Elizabeth Hand, prob. dau. Of Benjamin Hand & Elizabeth Whittier, b. Jan. 27, 1672, d. Nov. 16, 1711; m. 2nd at East Hampton Nov. 3, 1712, Elizabeth Hedges, dau. Of Stephen Hedges & Hannah Stratton, b. ca. 1683, d. May 19, 1747, in 64th yr. She is said to have been buried in the old cemetery on Main Street, East Hampton, in the same row as some members of the Hedges family. She married second at East Hampton Oct. 4, 1733, John Gardiner as his fourth wife. [2]

Daniel, son of Thomas (2) Osborne, was born in 1666 at East Hampton, Long Island, died there January 6, 1713. His branch of the family located in the lower part of Main street, East Hampton, and from that fact came to be known in later years as the --Down Street Osbornes." The old homestead of Daniel Osborne was owned in recent years by David E. Osborne. Daniel Osborne married Elizabeth Hedges, daughter or granddaughter of William Hedges, the immigrant [3]
