About Dr. Enoch Townsend

Enoch Wright Townsend, M.D., left home at age 17 to study medicine with Dr. John. Goucher, who was married to his older sister, Eleanor, in Waynesburg, PA. He graduated from Eclectic Medical Institute, Cincinnati, in 1851. Dr. Townsend practiced allopathy (conventional medicine), then received a degree from the Western College of Homeopathic Medicine, Cleveland, in 1853.
