Evan Evans was born in Camden, Burlington County, New Jersey on 4/4/1754. He died at Leesburg, Highland County, Ohio on 2/18/1845. He is buried at Lees Creek Quaker Cemetery, aka Hodgson/Hodson Cemetery outside of the Village of Highland on Antioch Rd., Fairfield Twp., Highland County, Ohio. I had a new marker placed in the cemetery for Evan Evans, my 5th greatgrandfather, during the spring of 2008. Evan saw service during the Revolutionary War and gave patriotic service as a battle field nurse and assistant surgeon. He left Culpeper Co., Virginia in 1803 to come to Highland County, Ohio to purchase land for his family to farm. His parents were Thomas and Hannah (Roberts) Evans. He was married to Sarah Woods Middleton on June 30, 1777 and they had eight children, then to Patience Antrim and had two children, then to Rebecca Stam.
