About Dr. Fidel Reyes Tiongson
Fidel Reyes Tiongson of Canalate Malolos Bulacan is born to Teodora Reyes Tiongson on July 21, 1920. He is married to Belen Canosa Laureano of Jaen, Nueva Ecija.
As a soldier and a member of the United States Armed Forces in The Far East, he participated in the defense of Bataan until its fall on April 9, 1942. He survived the infamous Bataan death march. One of his comrade in Bataan was Ramon Bagatsing the late Mayor of Manila. They were incarcerated in the Capas Concetration Camp together with thousands of Filipinos and Americans as prisoners of war.
He is also a Doctor of Optometry. He graduated from the Philippine College of Optometry in 1953.
He died on May 7, 1988 in Malolos, Bulacan.
