"Hello Michelle, I looked in "Die Matrikel der Hohen Schule zu Herborn 1725-1817" edited 1935 by Carl Heiler (who happened to be my grandfather). In It is a list of students who attended the college at Herborn. Here is what I found:

1. 604 : Lindisch, Friedrich Alexander, from Siegen, medical science, 1759
2. 654 : Marillac, Karl Paul Ernst Theodor, from Hadamar, forest, 1809

The "Staats- und Adresshandbuch des Herzogthums Nassau" includes the names of the dukedom's civil servants. The copy from 1825/26 that I got shows Theodor von Marillac as a Forstassistent in Hachenburg at this time.
