Löwenbach Georg, dermatologist. * Vienna, September 27, 1872; † Raxalpe (Lower Austria), November 22, 1903 (accident). Student at the University Vienna Med., 1896 Dr.med. General medicine. Training in pathology. anatomist. Inst. (Weichselbaum), surgery near Hochenegg (sd). A study trip took him to the laboratories of M. Joseph in Berlin and to Fr. Gerson Unna in Hamburg before becoming an assistant professor at the Wr. University Clinic for Dermatology. and syphilidol. (Kaposi, sd). L. made important contributions to his field. to deliver. A work on acne urticata produced such significant results that it was included in the Dermatol textbook. was quoted verbatim by Jarisch. With M. Joseph he published a “dermato-histological technique” that was exemplary for its time. His early death ended his promising career.
