About Dr. Herbert Norman Kohn
DR. HERBERT NORMAN KOHN, 79, of Passaic died Thursday.
Born in Graz, Austria, he came to the United States in 1951, moving to Passaic 32 years ago. Graduating in 1937 from medical school in Graz, he practiced in Santo Domingo from 1941 to 1951. Dr. Kohn was director of the child guidance clinic at St. Mary's Hospital, Passaic, in 1959-67. He was a consultant for retarded children psychaitry at Barnert Hospital, Paterson, and was director of the Mental Health Clinic of Passaic in 1967-83. He was a member of the New Jersey Medical Society, Passaic, the County Medical Society, Ortho-Psychiatric Association and was a life fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ruth Arnoldi; three sons, Dr. Daniel of Baltimore, David of Boston, and Frank of Falls Church, VA; and a grandson.
Service are 1 p.m. at Jewish Memorial Chapel, 64-70 How Ave., Passaic.
