Dr Jacob Riesser was born in Sachenhausen in 1853. He died in 1932 in Berlin. He was baptised in his youth and later became a lawyer.
From 1885 - 1905 he was a director of the Darmstadter Bank, and appointed honorary Professor of Law at the Friedrich-Wilhelms University of Berlin, now the Humboldt University in East Berlin.
From 1816 - 1828 Dr Riesser was a member of the Reichstag.
He married Emilie, daughter of Marcus Edinger of Worms and died May 6th 1932 in Berlin.
Emilie died in Theresienstadt in 1944. Marcus was the brother of Professor Dr Ludwig Edinger, neurologist and neuoanatomist of Frankfurt-on-Main 1855-1918.
They had three children: 1. Gabrielle 2. Hans Eduard 3. Otto Ludwig Maximillian (Professor)
