Dr. Jesse L Baird

obit: "Dr J L Baird was born near Russellville Ohio on the 1st day of March 1854 and died the 27th day of May 1907. He was a graduate of Hamilton College, New York, also the Medical College of Cincinnati and New York City. He practiced medicine for a period of 25 yrs, 1st in Fincastle and then in Toledo Ohio, until his health failed him. He came to Wichita to his brother's, L. W. Baird, for his health. He afterwards went out to the farm with his nephews but received no benefit from the change of climate. He came back to Wichita and as a last resort underwent an operation at St Francis Hospital for ulcer of the stomach but was too weak to rally from the shock. He was very patient through all his suffering and died with the hope of a blessed hereafter. He leaves a loving wife, one brother in Wichita, three brothers in Russellville Ohio and one sister in Toledo. The remains were taken to Russellville Ohio for interment, accompanied by his wife and brother, L W Baird." (Mount Hope KS Clarion, 31 May 1907)
