Dr. John Wesley Hignutt.
Denton, Md., Jan. 12. - John Wesley Hignutt, a well known physician and citizen, died this morning at his home, in Hickman, Del., after a illness of several mouths. The deceased was a son of the late James and Sarah A. Hignutt, and was born July 24, 1829. He was educated at Jefferson College of Philadelphia, and on the day of his graduation, March 3. 1856, married Miss Nancy Elizabeth Pomeroy, of Philadelphia. Mrs. Hignutt died twenty-four years ago, leaving no children. The doctor never married again. After his graduation he began the practice of his procession near Williston, this county, and there lived until nine years ago. when he removed to Hickman. Dr. Hignutt was a prominent member of the A. F. & A. M., and was the first member initiated in Temple Lodge, Denton, in the early sixties. He leaves one brother, James E. Hignutt, a member of the Denton bar."
