Surg Virginia Continental Line, Revolutionary War
The son of Charles and Phebe Wilson Julian. He married Margaret Isabelle Lounds circa 1762. He was in practice with Hugh Mercer, M.D. circa 1772. He was a vestryman at St. George's Church. A V.A. marker was placed at the Masonic Cemetery many years ago.
On November 2, 1987, Dr. T. Bradford Willis, a Julian descendant, applied for a VA grave marker for Dr. John Julian. The application was also signed by Mr. Edward H. Cann, a Past Master and Trustee of Fredericksburg Lodge No. 4, A.F. & A.M. for permission to place the marker in the Old Masonic Cemetery. On January 28, 1989, the VA marker was placed at the cemetery by the Worshipful Master, Wor. William J. White, the Senior Warden, Bro. Allan J. Richey, the Senior Deacon, Bro. James R. Adams, and the Secretary, Ralph A. Hicks.
