About Dr. Louis Reed Tripp

By the end of his academic career, Dr. Louis Reed Tripp (father) was the Dean of the College of Business and Economics, Lehigh University. He was also a professional arbitrator concurrently through most of his active years. Before his term at Lehigh University, he was a full Professor of Economics at the University of Wisconsin for fourteen years. He was a published author of graduate-level learning materials and a chosen expert to write for the Encyclopedia Britannica. On leave from the University in Madison, he spent two years from 1957 to 1959 in Yogyakarta Indonesia establishing the business degree program at Gaja Mada University, funded by a Ford Foundation Grant. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Union College and thereafter earned his doctoral degree from Yale, and served his country during World War II at the War Labor Board in Washington DC.
