"Dr. Louis Martin Radetsky, member of a pioneering Colorado Jewish family and a Denver cardiologist for 40 years, passed away Aug. 6, 2010, in Denver.
Rabbi Eliyahu Stern officiated at the Aug. 9 graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
"He was a dedicated physician and a loving father and grandfather whose smile lit up the world," the family said.
Dr. Radetsky was born Sept. 10, 1916, in Denver. He graduated North High and CU, and received his medical degree from Still Medical School in Des Moines, Iowa.
He married Ruth Silver in 1946. She passed away in 1987.
In 1992 he married Charlotte Oxman, who predeceased him in 2007.
Dr. Radetsky, a cardiologist in private practice for four decades, retired in 1984.
Recipient of the Humanitarian Award from ALYN Hospital for disabled children and youths in Israel, Dr. Radetsky was the medical director at the El Jebel Shrine.
Dr. Radetsky is survived by his children Sharon (Allen) Hampel, Steve (Shirley) Radetsky and Sandra (Greg) Banks, all of Denver; grandchildren Jennifer (Justin) Roth of Florida and Jonathan Hampel, Brett Radetsky, Alex Radetsky and Rachel Banks, all of Denver; his brother Col. Harold Radetsky; and great-grandson Brody Roth of Florida.
