Dr. Matthew Adams

Matthew Adams Is said to have been at 1st a cordwainer, then a farmer in Byfield Parish, and to have been the first practicing physician in W. Newbury after 1726. He d. 15(24?) Nov. 1755; his will was made Aug. 3, 1753, and proved Dec. 8, 1755.

Sarah Knight was the daughter of Joseph Knight (11473) & Deborah Coffin. Born on 3 Nov 1686 in Newbury, MA.25 Sarah died in Newbury, MA, on 29 Oct 1778; she was 91.

On 4 Apr 1707 when Sarah was 20, she married Dr. Matthew Adams (3137) , son of Capt. Abraham Adams (1280) (ca 1639-14 Jun 1714) & Mary Pettingell (11458) (6 Jul 1652-19 Sep 1705), in Newbury, MA. Born on 25 May 1686 in Newbury, MA.136 Matthew died in Newbury, MA, on 24 Nov 1755; he was 69.
