About Dr. (Ph. D.) György Vajna
GEDCOM Note
Familiar Name "George" Had to quit school because of his father who lost the family's money. George started in the coffee importing company, Fiumei. The company roasted coffee and stored spices. As he rose in the corporate ladder, VP (?), he went back to school. George would register for university, hire students to all of his paper work, and before the exams he would study all of the paper work 17 hours a day and wrote the exams at the top of his class. This is how he earned both his PhD's. One PhD was earned after the war. After the war George and Klára "squated" in one of the old Fiumei stores. Joli did the cash, Klára ran the store and did the cooking, George found all the merchandise and administrated the store. During the beginning of the Communist regeim the family became incrediably wealthy from the company, even in American terms. Before the Communist Revlution George and the family escaped from Hungary. They had to leave everything save for jewlery, which was stolen when they moved to their first Beverly Hills home. George found a planning job at UCLA. George was risk adverse. Klára was the one who took the risks and then George would expand on the venture.
