Dr. Sherlee Vargas Obituary
Dr. Sherlee Lou Dervis Vargas, age 70 of Huntsville, died Saturday at Huntsville Hospital after a 1 1/2 year long battle with cancer.
Dr. Vargas was the founding psychologist at Huntsville Psychotherapy Center. She was formerly a psychologist with the Mental Health Center in Huntsville. She was also a columnist with the Steubenville, OH newspaper, and Huntsville Magazine.
She was preceded in death by her first husband - Turan Dervis; parents-Freddie Ruby Powell; siblings-William Powell Mary Johnson.
She is survived by her loving husband-Jesse Vargas of Huntsville, AL; son-Byrom Dervis of Laceys Spring, AL, daughter-Dariana Dervis of Birmingham, AL, brother-Ronald Powell of Alma, IL; two sisters-Sue Creamer of Salem, IL Carol Powell of Salem, IL; grandson-Jeremiah Dervis of Laceys Spring, AL; and granddaughter-Naomi Dervis of Laceys Spring, AL.
