Pieter (48), a physician/philanthropist, originally from Leidschendam, Holland, who lived on Hekpoort farm, Magaliesburg, was ambushed at the farm entrance, and shot in the head execution style, on 29th July 2005.

Pieter founded Marang House in 1998, a medical care facility for children. After Pieter's murder, his son Pieter Junior (20 at the time) took over his good work.
