• Jewish Refugee London 1933 working as an Insurance Clerk according to statement in his application for Australian Citizenship, but addvertisements in Australian Jewish Newspapers looking for him assert that he was working as a Lawyer in London. British 1939 Census for 65 Parliament Hill Hampstead had him down as unemployed.
• Arrived Fremantle Australia 1940 on SS Dunera
• Internment during WW2 in NSW
• Gained Australian Citizenship 1948
• Last residence in Windsor Victoria working as a Process Worker
• Some believe that the death of Tibor is in some way directly related to the death of Carl Webb AKA Somerton Man? in Adelaide on 1/12/1948
• Numerous advertisements from 1949 until 1951 enquiring about his whereabouts from London via Jewish Welfare Organisation in Melbourne in the Hebrew Standard

Yad Vashem report suggest he and his mother were taken and killed. That appears to be incorrect.

The following is more probable

Tibor Kaldor's papers stated that he was born as Tibor Schoen / Schon, on June 7th 1904 in Kaposvar Hungary. His father died in 1906 and his widowed mother remarried. In 1910, whilst living in Graz (Austria) his surname was changed to Kaldor to facilitate his adoption by his new father-in-law.

When he was 34 he escaped from Vienna and made his way via Italy to London. He arrived there claiming to have a language degree from the University of Vienna in 1933, and obtained some sort of clerical employment. In 1939 when war was officially declared, he expressed no wish to serve in the armed forces, so was considered to be an undesirable alien. Tibor was therefore shipped out of the UK in 1940 on HT Dunera with hundreds of other Jewish refugees and German POWs all destined for Australian internment camps where they could be put to work and moved from one camp to another.
