CEMETERY INFORMATION: "Also called Browder (McGehee) Cemetery - US Geological Survey (topographic) Map - Mississippi, Amite Co S4/T3/R4 - Near Amite River across from Reynolds' house near Old Parson Hill. Copied by Glen Huff" - ~ Source for information: Amite County Mississippi Cemetery Book by Paul and Kathryn Mogan. Published 1982. Page 33 - (Cemetery site on Find-A-Grave was already established with no information about location nor were there any burial entries.)
NOTE by Sharon Autwell: David and Mariah are believed to be buried in well constructed masonry vaults in the family burial ground near their old home, about 10 miles northeast of Liberty, MS. The first vault has an oval top, the second is beside it and joins so that they appear as one vault. The tops have fallen in and a partition separates the two. There are no names to indicate who is buried there, but the information has come down through the family and appears accurate. When W. H. C. McGehee, administrator of the estate of David, sold the real estate to Joseph A. Sharp he reserved one acre of ground for the use of said deceased burying ground. This acre is not described, but the place of the vaults is the only burying ground on this plantation of 877.59 acres of land.
