About Dru Joan Ordonez

Obituary

Dru Joan Weagraff Ordonez

Ventura, CA

Born August 26, 1952,

Sacramento, CA.

Died February 1, 2016,

Ventura, CA.

Dru was a loving Mother, Wife, Daughter, Grandmother and Sister. She was a true Venturan if it was sunbathing on the beach, thrift store shopping, walking at night to pick flowers with her granddaughters, or just riding her bike around downtown, she was at peace throughout her life. She was an avid poet and gardener and all around flower child with a loving open heart for all who met her. Even in her older years she was still the carefree, silly, hippy girl she was in the 60s. She was not just a mother to her children, she was a mother to her children's friends as well. She was survived by her children Louis Ordonez, Jason Ordonez, Sierra Ordonez Chavez, Shyanne Ordonez, and also her three granddaughters Arianna Ordonez, Lusette Chavez, and Evalene Manjarrez. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Harry and Jeanette Weagraff, brother Darr Weagraff, and her one true love, her husband Louis John Ordonez.

MONARCH BUTTERFLY

WRITTEN BY DRU ORDONEZ, APRIL 2015

I am no longer a monarch butterfly like the ones that coated the trees of my youth when I would rage war in hobo jungle. I no longer have powdered wings of brillant orange-fire and velvety-black. I no longer fly. Now I have wings aged gray and feeble, but my mind and heart they soar free and strong. It is all I need. I have lived much too long in this cocoon. Today I shall emerge a beautiful new monarch butterfly like the world has never seen.

FLY FREE MOM. ONCE AGAIN YOU ARE WITH DAD.
