1910 United States Federal Census lists Drucilla as the daughter of Joseph H and Dell O Welch. She is noted to be a white female, 4 years of age. Drucilla, her mother, and her father were all born in Mississippi. She is also enumerated with her brother, Allen M (3) and Addie J (1). The family was living in Beat 5, Jones, Mississippi when the census was taken.

I remember hunting at my Grand Aunt Drucilla's and Grand Uncle Vestel's when I was in high school (late 1970s time period). We would pack up the whole family - my grandfather Timothy H. Welch, my grandmother Edith Welch, my mother Mary Ann Bell, and head to their house. Sometimes one of my close friends, Clayton Beachard would come with us. I used to love going there so much! Aunt Drucilla would always put on such a spread - and could she cook some great country food! When Clayton and I would get up and go out to hunt early in the morning, there was something around that house that smelled so sweet, so good. There are still times now, in my mid 50s as I am writing this, that I smell something that reminds me of that wonderful scent at their old house so strongly that I am instantly taken back, and it is always a great memory! Thank you for some wonderful memories Aunt Drucilla and Uncle Vestel! I sure miss those days! (NOTE: I hope I am spelling Vestel correctly. I don't have anything besides the spellings found in documents on the Internet, and they spell the name several different ways.)

Find a Grave notes that Drucilla is buried in Leaf River Cemetery

The Laurel Leader-Call says that “Mr and Mrs Vestal Cranford and daughter Marie of near Collins spent Sunday with her parents Mr and Mrs J H Welch”. This was in an article talking about people attending a Inging convention [sic] “at Laurel Sunday”. This probably meant a singing convention.
