Cornerstone of Georgia Seminole County, page 347: "The Roberts family reportedly came from Wales and settled in Virginia, later moving to the Carolinas and then to Georgia. Before the Revolution, Drury (Drurey or Drewry) born ca. 1753, and died ca. 1820, was living in Queensborough District of St. George's Parish, Georgia, from which Burke County was formed in 1777. During the War, he served as a Lieutenant of a company of Militia in that district and also as a soldier of the Georgia Line....About 1778 he married Rachel....they moved to Montogomery-Wilkinson County area ca. 1797 and were placed in Laurens County at its formation in December 1807. After Drury's death, Rachel came to Early County with some of her children, probably with Durry Jr. and William in 1821, where she died after 1837."
