Duncan McAfee

Duncan McAfee in 1758 accompanied the expedition under Brig. Gen. James Wolfe, who was chosen by [...] to lead the expedition against the Chief stronghold of the French in North America, Quebec. On 6/26/1759, he landed his forces opposite Quebec, which occupied the Heights of Abraham and was so fortified as to be almost impregnable. Wolfe scaled the precipitous cliffs during the night, and at daybreak of Sept. 13 forced the French into conflict on the Plains of Abraham. The French were defeated, but Wolfe himself lost his life in the hour of Victory.
