Earl Bird— Earl Bird, 77, died Tuesday in a Brigham City hospital after a long illness. He was born February 4, 1892, in Mendon, to Norman and Emerine E. Gardner Bird. On April 4, 1912, he married Melvina Baker. She died in 1924. He married Marjory Olsen Daley November 3, 1926, in the Logan LDS Temple. Mr. Bird had farmed in Mendon before moving to Brigham City in 1945. He was a former construction worker and an employee of the Box Elder Packing Co. While living in Mendon he served as a city councilman. Surviving are his widow and the following sons and daughters, Carlyle Bird, Mendon; Vernon Bird, Riverdale; Mrs. Ariel (Marjorie) Batt, Salt Lake City; Mrs. LaMar (Bonnie) Hoskins, Layton; Mrs. Henry (Jean) hoesli, Sagus, California; a step daughter, Mrs. Milton (Marcia) Anderson, Thatcher; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother and sisters, Cyril Bird, Brigham City; Mrs. Hazel Health, Salt Lake City; Mrs. O. L. (Erma) Brewington, Downey, California; Mrs. Truman (Lucille) Hillyard, Logan. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Mendon LDS Ward chapel. Friends may call at the Peterson Funeral home in Brigham City Friday form 7 to 9 p.m. and at the chapel in Mendon after 12 noon. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery.
