Earl Folke, by Swedish Biographical Dictionary

Folke jarl, storman, d 17 or 18 July 1210 in the battle of Gestilren. Parents: probably Earl Birger brosa and Birgitta , illegitimate daughter of King Harald of Norway.

In the Erikskrönikan, F is characterized as the author of the Folkungar, ie the Folkunga party. He has apparently only after Earl Birger Brosa's son Knut's fall in the battle of Lena 1208 become an earl and fought with his followers on Erik Knutsson's side in the battle of Gestilren, where he fell. F left two sons, Sune and Holmger.
