1698: His father granted Ebenezer one half of his father's home farm of 250 acres, available at his parents' decease. [2]
1701-15: Sheriff Dukes County [3]
1703: March 31: He bought about 330 acres at Oak Bluffs from his father James, again as a land speculator. [2]
1705: December: He bought the entire land and holdings of John Daggett of Checkemoo, likely as speculation. [2]
1715 and 1729: Justice of the Peace. [3]
1722; Representative at Chilmark. [3]
1725-9: Served as selectman and treasurer. [3]
1727: May 10: Ebenezer signed a 21 year lease for 800 acres at Gays Head. [2]
He married Rebecca Russell, daughter of Jonathan Russell [2] on April 14, 1698 at Barnstable, Massachusetts. [4] Rebecca was born at Hadley, Massachusetts on July 7, 1681, daughter of Jonathan Russell and Martha Moody. [5]
Ebenezer is buried in the Abel Hill Cemetery, Chilmark,, Massachusetts, where his inscription reads: Here Lyes Buried the/ Body of EBENEZER /ALLEN Esq; Who Died/ May the 14th 1733: / In the 62nd Year of / His Age. "A Lover of Hospitality." [6]
